Life Saving Effort

On Friday March 19, 2010 at approximately 2200, Officers from the Bureau were sent to the area of Petersburg High School for two people shot. The first officers to arrive found a male shot in the arm and a female shot in the arm and chest.  The female was losing a tremendous amount of blood and was having difficulty breathing from the chest wound.  Officer Evan Jones arrived and immediately began treating the female with department issued “Quick Clot”.  Officer Evan Jones was able to keep the victim stable until the arrival of more advanced trained EMT’s and eventually Med Flight.
The quick actions of Officer Jones were instrumental in saving the life of both gunshot victims.
